Tym Stark’s Surgery - UPDATED - Day 42
Day 42 - Friday 11/02/07
Tym is going in for an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) this morning. His surgery is scheduled for 7:30am. He will be staying in the hospital overnight for recovery. The surgery is fairly routine (especially in these cases) and he should be on his way down to Orange County early next week. We were hoping to move him before his surgery, but at this time, surgery seems like the most expedient process.

UPDATE - The surgery went very well and Tym is on track for release back to the acute care rehab center tomorrow morning. Tym says, “I’m not perfect, but I’m better than I was!”

Tym,
You look good. We’re so glad the surgery went well. We are looking forward to having you down in Orange County, so we can see you. We know you have a long way to go, but you have come a long way already with God’s help. We love you, Tym. We hope to have you at a football game again next season. Missed you this year! “Hi!” to your family.
We love you….Jim and Mary Parke

Hi Tym!
We’ve been praying that you’re comfortable after your procedure and that you heal up quickly. AND we’re still praying for your complete recovery! You’re making such GREAT progress! Hey - I was going through our Royal Family Kids’ Camp boxes and found a bag with some broken glass in it! It reminded me of your camper’s rock throwing adventures - and breaking “Grandpa Rick’s” window! Do you recall that? Oh the “adventures” of this last camp!
We’re looking forward to seeing you soon! Keep your eyes on Jesus, dear brother!
Joyfully,
Debra and Keith Vaughn

Tym, Tym, Tym
Wouldn’t it be nice if we all could have a defib implant? You know, just in case. A friend of Shaun’s has one and she loves it.
The Lord is faithful and answers our prayers. Keep the faith and keep up the praying.
We do miss you! Patience is not our virtue…but we’ve been good. See you soon, good friend!
Love,
Ron & Shaun

I am scared of this device because I was told if I do not have this procedure I will be dead in two months or sooner. I do not want to scare you but I have read allot about this device and I am afraid of it and I believe you are very brave to have this done. I am looking for another procedure and I hope and pray they have one that does not need to be introduce in my body. I read there is one that is on the market and it takes only a few minutes and surgery is not needed at all.
